control of family planning and human reproduction is classic totalitarianism. I think with the combination of the great replacement theory, this abortion thing is sinister. Also, when placed in a global context where everywhere is worried about dropping birth rates, even China ffs, it’s even more chilling. Our global politics are such a mess, and our economic system couldn’t even weather the shock of a few years of instability. This world is ripe for a fashy takeover with a Handmaid’s Tale flavour. This might seem outlandish but in the last few months there have been several developing nations that are basically approaching collapse, like Sri Lanka and Nigeria, everywhere is seeing very disturbing inflation, and now the Chinese economy is looking shaky with all this real estate crap going on there and rising protests. Citizens are nothing but resources to the rich and powerful. Men are cannon fodder and women are broodmares to produce the next generation of consumers/slaves.

I remember Biden making a promise during his campaigning that he would rescind the permit. When did he promise the opposite? And I thought the US was trying to be more self-sufficient, and NOT buy resources from other countries. If we use the money from the pipeline for US solar and wind power plants (which will give us permeant US jobs, not temporary), isn’t that not only significant better for the environment, but better for the US economy long term? I know this isn’t a popular opinion, but I feel the price of gas should be high. Renewable resources should be cheap, so we have incentive use those instead. The less oil we have, the more it should cost, since it is a limited, valuable.

Maybe the headline could say, "Unjust Economy Puts Indoor Living- Out of Reach; Unhoused People Light Fire To Stay Warm. "We must start taxing billionaires," said the Mayor." Just a dream I guess

I think both of these choices suck. I wanted Warren. Establishment dems did their thing and put up the worst choice. I dont trust either of these men on their conduct with women. But what I know is, Biden is not an arrogant tool. He will listen to people who know better than him on overseas relations, economy etc. He wont dog whistle. He wont attempt to start a war with Iran or N. Korea because his adult diaper is too tight and it's making him cranky. He's not going to encourage people who want civil war, and his sexual conduct with females of any age is nowhere near as terrifying as Trump's is. Trump does whatever the fuck he likes, is a narcissist and listens to noone. He's ruined the country. He's a walking apocalypse. Biden isn't.

She always says that the economy SO good. I've taken that to be code for "Hooray, there's a white guy in charge!" because she doesn't believe Obama was American. I've tried pointing out that economists say we officially went back into a recession February 2020 but it's like talking to a brick wall. Racists gonna racist.

Explain to me, bc I feel like an idiot. How would it have been worse for the economy to fully shut down the country for 2-4 weeks rather than now having been partially shut down for 6 months with no end in sight? Everyone here keeps screaming capitalism and shit, but I don't get it. Surely the shorter option would have been less detrimental to small businesses and nonessential big companies.

But Trump could have not downplayed it. He could have spoken out against the governors who were opening bars and the people who were going to them. He could have told people that they need to stay home, and they need to wear a mask. But he didn't. Instead, he said," Let's re-open." He openly dismissed wearing a mask. It was going to just go away, remember? He is our leader. He is supposed to be the one who keeps Americans safe. Instead, he just flat out lied about the virus and it's numbers and completely ignored experts so the economy would suffer so much and he wouldn't look bad. He told American to go out, not wear a mask, etc. People listened to him because they falsely believe that he actually cares about their well being.

This is the world now. I've seen several posts like that, and my thoughts were...how sad. Our economy was bad enough in that most families need two incomes to survive, and not everyone can save a lot. So many people were struggling as it was, and then COVID hit. People were losing hours or their jobs. Yep, there's unemployment, but there are thousands of people who are STILL waiting for it to come through. And in a lot of cases, UC isn't enough to pay the bills, etc., and they're getting further and further behind. For those with children who are going back to work/school, now they're in a pickle. I'm so grateful that I'm not in this position, and feel bad for those who are. At least they're trying to pay SOMETHING. I see a lot of posts looking for free childcare.

The verdict is in on my new product--after about 6 different variations on my original formula, they liked-----the original formula. LMAO. So I did a lot of work for what I feel like was nothing, but it was good experience. I'm glad I got to work on this project and I'm so stoked for my next one--a chlidren's chewable multivitamin. I am pretty thankful that our business (vitamins) is actually booming right now despite the crap economy. I better get a damn raise this year and one helluva bonus come Christmas.

Random thoughts as we enter week 4 (where I live) on stay at home: My husband is driving me less crazy than I thought, my anxiety is so much better when I am not out in the world (prob not great news), my mom is still a narcissist and I have reached out to her multiple times with nothing back (makes me sad but I know it's been this way for decades), thirsty social media people look like twats for doing "swipe ups," and people who always plead "so so busy/so much hustle" must be in shock. The economy is tanking I truly hope everyone can survive and adapt. Goes without saying, I hope all stay healthy!
