You really do sound like a child. From what I've read, you really don't give two shits about other people, it's all about you and your delicate sensibilities. Nice of you to assume that I personally want to take away your right to choose whether you get vaccinated, too. I don't care. At all. It is completely your choice. But I have to say, your reasoning behind it is what makes you seem like an idiot (to me) because your worries about this vaccine having long term side effects is ridiculous to me. It's the same science and technology that goes into EVERY vaccine. They all work the same way. And my personal opinion is that the long term 'side effect' of getting this vaccine will be (lo and behold) NOT dying of covid if you get it. So do what you want! And maybe you should consider letting other people do the same, and NOT trying to take away a woman's right to choose what she does with her body.

Googled "old people with tattoos" and actually I think a bunch of them look bomb, so thanks. We all get wrinkly and saggy, I don't think they look any worse than other people their age. This post just drips ignorance and boomer mentality. If I were the OP I would still get the sewing machine, but I am so over people's judgmental ignorance over tattoos. We aren't all idiots that want something like a Barbie logo or stick and poke prison tattoos, some of us have had the same tattoo ideas for decades. Also if there are regrets, there's this wonderful thing called laser tattoo removal, which is far from perfect, will probably improve vastly in technology in the next couple of decades. So yeah, Okay Boomer.

Today I saw an ad for a pet training Zoom session. At first totally skeptical and laughed at the idea. But the more I thought about it, it made sense and might work. Wow even our animals are going to be addicted to technology sooner or later.

Not a conspiracy nut or a religious loon but I do think it's important that we are aware that global governments tend to use events like this to increase their totalitarian powers. We saw it after 9/11 too. There have already been some insanely invasive and ridiculous bills put on the table. We are far too casual about giving our power away for shiny new technology items. I'm all for police and even army enforcing lockdown IF IT NEEDS TO BE DONE, but those bills need to be repealed as soon as we're done with this virus, and not left to sneakily erode our freedoms away.

Before people go crazy about how I know what I got for Christmas. My DH and I celebrated it early because he had to go across the country for work for a few months. He has no access to technology and won't for at least 6 weeks. Everyone is going to be posting pics about being with their family for Christmas, I'm not going to ask them not to just because I won't even be able to talk to my DH. I don't expect them to. I'm the type that is happy for other people's joy, I don't feel bad when others have more or are in better situations than me. People need learn to deal with these situations instead of expecting others to cater to them.

I'm an older millenial and I think a lot of people don't realize how old millenials are--we're in our 30s and we definitely have a few life skills...I can drive a stick shift, pluck and butcher a chicken, grow a garden, sew, cook, can vegetables and fruit, knit, crochet, and I also do okay with technology since I was introduced to it fairly young. The kids with no skills are the ones that are just out of high school and have spent their childhoods in front of screens. Granted, most of what I know how to do are my hobbies at this point, but if the internet ever crashes, I'll be set for a while.

Because I use a checkbook I’m ‘refusing to adopt new technology?’ Listen you young whippersnapper, I’ll have you know that I pay all our bills online, use the debit card regularly, and even find the need to write checks occasionally. Hell, I’m so old the bank gives me my checks for free. You should be happy you didn’t raise two kids w-a-y back in the ‘70’s, and literally have 63 cents in your account on payday, when you were actually handed a paper check that you had to use your lunch hour to deposit so the $5 check you wrote that morning didn’t bounce. Let me have my damned checkbook!

It's funny--I can usually tell people's age by what technology they use. People my dad's age (early 60s and older) almost all use checkbooks and keep a register. People more my age and younger all use online banking apps that show me my checking balance instantly and I just have a debit card. My dad has a smartphone but he refuses to actually use anything on it and for him, the most frustrating thing is that the world is basically built for smartphones now. I hope I'm not so stubborn as I get older that I refuse to adopt new technology.
