The Botox clinic owner seems to understand that they really screwed up. She gave me a full refund and had their medical director call me to discuss my options and answer my questions. The medical director did not minimize my concerns and told me the nurse practitioner was wrong to tell me that the injection of Dysport would be a quick fix. She called in a prescription for an eye drop that might help, no charge and was clear that it might not help. When I asked if I could have a copy of the release I had signed as well as my treatment record she said absolutely. She said my drooping eyelid would start to get better in two weeks but would probably take two months to get completely better. At least she was honest. And kind, unlike the clinic owner. I am never doing this again!

I am upset and need to vent. I live with two housemates and one of them is the landlord (former nurse in her 60s) who got sick recently. I, mostly out of town, didn't come home until Monday (yesterday) when she tells me she got sick over the wknd. Says took Covid test, was negative. Meanwhile, she's coughing in the living room with no mask. I stay in my room, wear mask when I go to shared spaces. Later that night, she's still on the couch, visibly sick, no mask. I wish I called her out for not wearing one. The next morning when I leave the house, I see her used tissues just laying around. Today she texted that she tested negative twice, but last night was Positive and will be wearing a mask. Don't you think that's too effin late!! The pathetic irony as she is a former nurse and all prev housemates (including her) got Covid b4 thru her son. I was not renting then. I haven't replied to her text...too upset. I happen to be out of town for my bday and now don't really want to return.

Botox Consult- Pretty brutal! The nurse looked at me and told me the most impactful thing I could do was actually surgery for under eye bags! I agree but I didn't expect that because it's not a service they offer. I asked for a referral. My under eye bags drive me crazy. I'm considering it! She wasn't unkind but she was frank and I appreciate her honesty.

I did it! Finally secured a position that has zero patient care! Never had an admin job before, and I'm a little intimidated, but soooo excited to not be abused anymore by a-hole patients. I loved nursing; I devoted my entire adult life to caring for others, but I'm done. This generation of elders broke me. I miss the cranky WWII vets. I'm gonna let the Gen Z nurses handle the boomers. I'm out.

Maybe it felt aimed at teachers because a teacher posted about being exhausted. I said that I KNOW everyone is tired. I said that I respect those who were working with the public during the hardest time of the pandemic, especially nurses. My sister in law, who is a nurse, lost a cousin to covid because he was working as a nurse in a hospital without enough PPE. I know you guys took risks. I respect you more than anyone. But...who acted like they were God? I just said I'm a teacher and I'm tired. Like bone-weary tired. Like all of the paraprofessionals in my program are on sick leave and I just got two new students tired. Like breaking up fist fights tired. I'm not saying I'm more tired than anyone. I'm just saying I'm tired. Okay?

I'm running low on empathy for people who complain about working from home during the pandemic. Yes, I made the decision to become a nurse. I did not, however, sign up to become sacrificial to a corporation who "rewards" me with pizza parties and an ugly Vera Bradley blanket after being abused by the anti vaccine/mask crowd for over a year. Do you have any idea how many people I've watched DIE in the last year and a half? Essential workers (healthcare, retail, ANYONE who's been working with the public) have been put through hell that "work from home" people can't even imagine. Sucks about your desk, though. Glad you and your kids got to stay home and not be exposed to a deadly virus.

Stolen from Twitter: "Vaccine mandates are causing teachers who don't believe in science to quit, nurses who don't believe in medicine to quit, and cops who don't believe in public safety to quit. I'm failing to see the downside to this."

You know who does know ? The virologists who researched this vaccine for decades. Nurses trusting internet researchers instead of the actual researchers are saying, "We don't really trust the scientific process." And that's scary. These same people who refuse the vaccine have no issue administering and taking other medications that are new every, single day. No one expects "fucking gynecologists and anesthesiologists and everyone in between to become virologists." We expect them to trust the actual virologists like they do every other speciality. Instead they trust people with no scientific training whatsoever because they read it on the internet.

If you don't want to get the vaccine, then stay home. Don't go to the store, don't go to work, don't go anywhere. Yes, it's your choice, but seeing as this is the most infectious respiratory disease EVER, you do NOT have the right to endanger other people. You just don't. Yes, science is always changing, but the research for this vaccine has been going on for decades. It's not like they pulled it out of their ass overnight. I'm willing to bet you have taken a drug that has been around for less than a year. I'm also willing to bet that if you're in the ER, you don't stop the doctors and nurses and ask them for the ingredient list of every medication they are injecting into your IV and how long it's been FDA approved. And then of course, decline it if it's been less than a year or not FDA approved for that use. But you don't do that. Because you're a hypocrit.

OP here. Also need to add that my mother is an abusive narcissist. Went no contact over 5yrs ago. Changed my number. They broke up before I was born but she abused him my whole life as well. She's stolen money from him many times before dementia, I suspect it continued after. She knows he keeps a wad of cash on him. She has called, spoke to a nurse that told him about his cancer but wouldn't reveal anything else. She found my number somehow, left a message saying she was going to go see him (I.E go steal his wad of cash). I called & spoke to multiple ppl about banning her from talking to him, getting info, or seeing him. It's bad enough I have to deal with him dying, but I have to deal with TWO ppl who aren't even his family trying to rob him blind. I live across the country, I'm calling tomorrow to have the nurses give my Aunt the wad of cash so no one else tries to get their hand on it. It's really sad we have to worry about this crap during this time.
