I will never date/marry a bipolar man, ever again! After my marriage ended I realized just how awful it was, living with someone who did nothing to help himself, wasn't interested in learning about his condition, and wouldn't take meds. Finally started dating a healthy man and wow, 100% difference! (disclaimer:not knocking mental disease or anyone who has one, and my marriage didn't end solely for this reason ). Can't believe I wasted all those years trying to help him.

Just to stop this going further, I'm the opp who posted about the diagnosis. ADHD is not over diagnosed where I live, especially in females. In fact it's v. difficult to get an ADHD diagnosis here our country has totally backward views about the medication. I waited over a year for my appointment. And an ADHD assessment in this country also includes checking for autism along with other stuff that cause similar behaviour patterns like bipolar disorder and BPD. It takes hours to assess. They dont just hand out ADHD pills here easily, I know thats a problem in the US. Thanks both of you for the concern sincerely tho, I appreciate it.

He's been clean and sober for 3 years. His mouth upsets me and he knows it. He'll apologize, be ok for awhile then say something stupid again. I can't take it. Seems like he's bipolar. I need to get my own place. We've been together 4 months and I've had enough.

A girl who fakes like she's my friend, who I know talks crap about me, is on my FB friends list. I deleted her long ago after she said some really messed up things out of the blue many years ago. I'm obese. The last time she saw me I was 50lbs heavier. Not long ago her & her DH were having a tag conversation about him loving how skinny she is and hates fat chicks, even though he is obese as well as ugly (he makes great money). She found a picture on FB of a woman who was clearly over 2x my size, but she tagged him and told him that's how fat I am. They both laughed about it. She's always cruel for no reason. I don't delete her because she's entertaining. Total trainwreck, mentally unstable, bipolar/crazy, and bad things are always happening to her. I like seeing Karma get her back. It was public then deleted, but her DH was talking to another woman and she went nuts, then the next day he was back to being the most perfect man ever. If her life was so great she wouldn't be an alcoholic.

Maybe this coworker of yours had bipolar disorder. It can make people very delusional. She may not be on a beach at all. Or maybe she IS but spending money she doesn't have. I highly doubt she's getting paid time off for 3 months, especially if she's only been with your company for a short time.

My DH does that too sometimes--works like a madman for a few days and then sleeps pretty much nonstop for a few days. It's usually a bipolar mania/depression cycle that is manifesting when this happens,so he has to make sure to not sleep too much or he makes it way worse. I also can't relate because I would get SO annoyed if I couldn't get stuff done during the day because I was sleeping all day.

Kanye West is like a study of bipolar disorder. I sincerely hope Kim and the kids are okay, because he's getting worse. He wants to change his name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West. He's not okay.

I'm sorry that you had to go through that, but why would you let somebody yell at you for 3 hours straight? I would have either left the room or told him to STFU. Being bipolar is not an excuse to be abusive.

I'm the OP with the DH who stopped taking his bipolar meds. I want to give a big ol' hug to the confessor on here who posted about her DH lying about quitting smoking and people saying it wasn't a big deal, etc. I feel so much empathy for you right now. My DH told me he was taking his meds and I could TELL he wasn't the same as he was when he was taking them. He kept saying it was in my head, etc. I'm so livid that he decided to just stop taking them and thinking he can fix himself. I have never lived alone, but how hard can it be? To the OP who thinks she's too old to start over--how much does your DH really do that you can't handle? I say go for it. Life is way too short for this kind of bullshit.

I found out my DH hasn't been taking his bipolar meds lately. This explains so much. He lost his shit the other night about some stupid magazine subscription and yelled at me nonstop for about 3 hours right before I went to bed and had to be up for work the next day. I told him I would leave him if he decided he didn't need the meds anymore. Guess I'm going to start apartment hunting. I can't handle him without the meds. I just CAN'T.
