We do heart emojis a lot, actually. I think he confides in me because I understand everything that's going on just from working there too. I lot of it is complicated, so unless you work in the system, so to speak, it wouldn't really make sense or would be hard to explain. I also think he doesn't want to necessarily let his wife know how bad things are, because he doesn't want to burden her with that level of worry too. Like I think he's telling her the deal means he'll be paid through September, that's plenty of time to find a job, etc., which is what the propaganda, White House BS is telling fed workers. But boots on the ground & knowing what we know are telling us that's not really going to happen. We've both been married for about the same amount of time, me 21 years, him a little longer, I think. We both have 2 kids about the same age (college-aged).

We're a constitutional republic, not a democracy. We've been a constitutional republic for over 200 yrs. Republicans want less federal govt involvement and give the power back to the states. When the power is in the hands of the states, voters make the decisions instead of the federal govt deciding for us. Republicans have turned more Libertarian. Liberal media has brainwashed people into thinking we're all going to die. Abortion rights weren't taken, the power was given to each state to decide where they are/aren't legal. Want an abortion? Vote for it in your state. Ever notice how liberals tend to have tons of diagnosed mental illnesses? Dems know its easy to prey on the weak, they're being pumped full of extreme propaganda. So many have gone off the deep end, some by unaliving themselves and their families....over an election....

I believe scientists and medical professionals know a hell of a lot more about it than I do, so I make the decision to listen to them. Particularly when there are thousands of them saying the same thing and listening to them could mean the difference between life and death. If your brain is working in a way that prevents you from doing this, then fine. If your brain has been influenced by a political agenda. propaganda, or social media and THAT is preventing you from doing this, then you're ... probably a republican.

The propaganda machine is about to get worse...all these floods and fires and straight up climate refugees, and a huge portion of the population thinks climate change is a conspiracy. Which is a double kick in the gut when you realise that the whole "climate change is a conspiracy" thing was actually started by Exxon...so these people basically believe a conspiracy of a conspiracy. Interestingly, it was also BP who came up with the carbon footprint...so they could lay all the blame at individual action on the part of the consumer while the big global companies doing all the damage continue to do damage. Anyone seen Idiocracy? We're halfway there...

24 patients admitted yesterday, which brings us to a total of 88 covid patients, so far. They are ALL not vaccinated. Every last one of them. Yes, we are absolutely tracking vaccination status. I keep telling myself it's not their fault. They were force fed misinformation by a propaganda machine. But it doesn't change the fact that if someone I love gets into a serious car accident, we, the largest hospital in the northeast region of the state, can't accommodate them in the ICU. All because someone did their "research" on YouTube and Facebook.

Believe me, vaccinated patients are having a very different experience with covid. We currently have 7 covid patients (we're expecting more. Our county just went back into the yellow) and only one is vaccinated. The only reason she's admitted is because of her copd. What I'm getting at is that vaccinated people are typically not being admitted. They are the ones with the mild flu-like symptoms. There's a reason Fox news, just last week, started encouraging vaccinations. Their base is about to experience heavy losses from the variant. As a nurse, I can't take another year like 2020. People crying in their ICU beds, asking for the vaccine, now that they're infected and their 02 sat is dropping. I can't do it anymore. I didn't go to school to watch people die because they watched a propaganda video on YouTube.

Every social media company that allowed propaganda that radicalized homegrown terrorists needs to be held accountable. Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Parler. All of them were complicit in creating these extremists.

You sound sanctimonious. There's reasons that far right thinking gains traction. If you look over history you will see patterns. Economic instability, a breakdown in social cohesion, demonisation of specific groups, ethnic minorities and women but also people with opposing ideals (which for the current far right would be anyone left of Hitler). Then you throw in media fear propaganda about migrants and how certain ideas/movements are destroying society. It doesn't happen in a vacuum, it happens when people are angry and left to stew, and often it is provoked by the people in power, as happened in Rwanda. So continue to be self righteous AF all you want, while some of us continue to try and prevent a new generation of young people from heading down the same road. If you honestly believe some people are inherently "bad" and cannot be fixed, you're really a short step from someone who wants to throw people in a concentration camp.
