I need to whine for a minute. Today was the day I was supposed to be packing up for Burning Man. Spending a whole week with like minded people. Getting to hold hands with both my husband and my girlfriend, with no fear. Interacting with giant art. Dancing all night. Spending hours in the Temple honoring those close to me who have died in the last year. And just generally hitting the reset button, and getting reminded what is important and what isn't. I know I'll get to go next year, but I could have really used it this year. And yes, I know, first world problems.

I have a co-worker who complains all the time. About the same first world problems. Every single day. I hate chronic complainers at work who feel the need to vocalize their every woe. I especially hate the chronic complainers who talk to no one in particular and expect a response. Yes, we know it sucks. Yes, we all go through the same shit. Yes, our computers freeze up too. You're not special. Either you're going to do something about it, or shut the fuck up like the rest of us and do the best you can with what you have.

I really dislike my job. About a year ago we hired in someone new. She is just amazing. I started privately calling her my replacement. She is faster, smarter, and cheaper than I am. I was actually looking forward to getting layed off. I have savings, and I would love an excuse to spend some time trying different jobs until I find something I like a little better. Anyway, I just got my review back, and it was 5 out of 5 stars. I know this is silly, but that really upset me. Can't they see how awesome my replacement is? I even mentioned her in my review. And they gave me extra points for talking up someone else! NOT what I was trying for. I really don't want to quit *just* because I don't like my company (the pay and benefits are fine), but I think I'm going to have to do it. Apparently they aren't going to let me go anytime soon! Yah, I know, first world problems.

I'm pretty sure I'm just going to be exhausted and unnecessarily angry and panicky until my colpo results come back. My gyno scheduled a follow-up for me, which she never does, and I can't get it out of my head. On the one hand, cancer would suck and I'm not sure we're done having kids. On the other hand, it would make the "do we want more kids" discussion a heck of a lot easier. Just kidding, my humor is odd. Seriously, I wish they would just tell me the results instead of making me wait until November 1st. My mind runs away with me too often and there is nobody here to even remotely try to understand my anxiety. I mean, H tries for like 5 minutes, but then he forgets that there's anything bothering me or hurting me. *sigh* first world problems and all that. At least I have kids and a house and food.

I'm trying to decide whether to buy a crock pot or not. Are they worth it? I don't see how a crock pot would be any better than putting the food in a pot with a lid and leaving it on the stove with a flame tamer (gas stove) to spread the heat. First world problems, I know, but is a crock pot that awesome that it's worth having another piece of kitchen gear around? I hate clutter. TIA!

Shall we start with the first world problems - complaining that I only got flowers, and made my own (and everyone's) dinner? What I want most in the world is a hand made card / words from my child.

So embarrassed. I had to leave work today for an 'emergency' because I bled right through the back of my pants like a thirteen year old. I got up, saw a big red spot on my chair and knew I fucked up. I was wearing a pad for heavy bleeding (I hate tampons) and hadn't even been wearing it long. I'd taken Midol for this round of painful period cramps and was ready for work like a trooper. I'm 24 and embarrassing blood stains in public have never happened to me in me adult life. At least that I know of. Now I'm going to spend all weekend worried about my attendance and the blood stain I left in my chair, I can't even enjoy myself and relax. God help me and my first world problems.

I can't fix their corner of the world. I can't help I was born lucky in the US. I contribute what I can where I can. I refuse to be guilted and don't believe in first world problems. That phrase makes me want to throw up with disgust because People of all races and all countries have problems.

Yay! We'll no longer have First World Problems after we get bombed into submission by the Third World. We'll all be the same shitty backward world. We won't need nice clothes under our burqas, so we'll save lots of money that we won't have anyway. We won't be sending our daughters to school but that's OK because we can stay home with them because women won't be allowed to work outside the home. We'll all have lots of fun pounding our laundry on rocks and wishing we could see our sons, who have been kidnapped at age 14 to join the army that keeps us all subdued. Check out Iraq.

I don't get why people are "upset" about some fucking Starbuck's cups. CUPS?! This is what people want to WHINE ABOUT, when so many other horrible atrocities are going on throughout the world? GIMME A FUCKIN' BREAK!! First world problems? No--more like IGNORANT, DUMB-ASS PEOPLE PROBLEMS. UGH!! Will the Mothership please come and take me back to my REAL home planet now? Cuz Earth, specifically, the United States, is NOT where I belong! Thank you!
